aged oak for aged puerh

This tea holder is made from an oak root, wood comes from an old stump which has been laying in the forest for many years. The outside was rotten but inside is still healthy. The oak root speaks to me a lot. It has a spectacular grain and the wood has very pleasant feel in the hands. Particularly this one makes kind of ringing sound, it resonates well and enhance the sound when you move the leaves to the tea pot. Wood is highly polished and finished with shellac resin and Camellia Sinensis oil. The shallow shape of this one is ideal for a piece of puerh cake.
