Two greats

About two years ago a big storm took down beautiful ash tree in our garden and last year we had to cut down another one. They were big and over 100 years old trees. Both have a very nice wood with a stunning grain. I managed to save some of it, otherwise it would end up in our stove. The wood from last year is still drying but the other one is ready. I polished one piece to see the grain and it is marvelous. It has a nice curly grain with flame on the top. The cut in this direction leave the wood surface completely flat without any pores so when polished is it like a glass which is what I go sometimes after. They were also some old nails stuck in the tree and the wood is nicely colored from them (not on the picture). Enjoy!
