I received this gorgeous piece of bog oak...can't wait to work with this beautiful ancient wood. Although, maybe I should leave it just as it is. It is so amazing piece of wood. Bog oak - an ancient oak tree which has been preserved usually in peat, with hard black wood.
The age of the bog oaks usually ranging from 2000 to 6000 years. The blacker the older.
Hard to tell, but judging by the completely black color of the wood, this piece could be very, very old.
