my first spoon

Seeing all those spoon carvers over the Instagram inspired me to try it too. I was making only tea scoops so far, tomorrow I felt urge to try spoon instead. This one will serve as tea spoon for gyokuro. It is from piece of old oak wood and by coincidence it is the very same piece of wood I made my first TeaBridge from. Kind of symbolic being this my first, is it not. Not having proper tools for spoon carving it was bit of a challenge but I am happy with the result. Highly addictive stuff!

Dear readers, just sharing few pictures of another larch tea holder with yakisugi work. I really like this one. Beautiful wood from old larch in our garden. Thank you for looking!
